Aerodactyl Weakness

Type-wise, Aerodactyl takes extra damage from Water, Electric, Ice, Rock, and Steel. Ground moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses.

LGPE Aerodactyl Best Moveset

Mega Aerodactyl reaches 135 Attack at 150 Speed with AbilityTough Claws boosting contact moves, the fastest physical attacker in the format. The moveset runs Rock/Flying TermStab at pace nothing else matches. Without the Mega, 105 Attack at 130 Speed is fast but the power doesn't back up the delivery.

Best Build

Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee uses different battle mechanics.

Competitive build content is not applicable for this game. Select a main series game for builds.

Moves List

TMs carry this one. Aerodactyl learns Fly and Rock Slide naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Dark and Normal and beyond give it real matchup play.

  • In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Aerodactyl's biggest threats include Gyarados (Water), Raikou (Electric), and Lapras (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Rock and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Revived from the Old Amber at the Cinnabar Island Pokemon Lab. Aerodactyl is revived at level 5. Give it Rare Candies or experience-share if you want it ready for the late-game.

  • Rock Head is the go-to ability for Aerodactyl. It protects against recoil damage. Its hidden ability Unnerve can work in specific setups. Pressure is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
