Is Mr. Mime Good in Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee Playthrough?

Psychic/Fairy now, which is a massive upgrade over the original games. Mr. Mime gains Dragon immunity that stops Lance's Dragonite cold. Handles Bruno's Fighting-types and contributes against Agatha. Far better in Let's Go than it ever was in Red and Blue.

Mr. Mime Weakness

Type-wise, Mr. Mime takes extra damage from Poison, Ghost, and Steel. Dragon moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Filter reduces SE moves damage, further improving the defensive spread. Mr. Mime's special bulk (base 120 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

LGPE Mr. Mime Best Moveset

Psychic/Fairy at 100 Sp. Atk and 120 Sp. Def with 90 Speed. Dragon immunity and Fighting resistance from the Fairy typing are real advantages. Without AbilityFilter reducing super-effective damage, 40 HP and 65 Defense crumble on any physical contact. The moveset has the special stats but nowhere to safely switch in.

Best Build

Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee uses different battle mechanics.

Competitive build content is not applicable for this game. Select a main series game for builds.

Moves List

Most of Mr. Mime's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Dream Eater and Psychic, but Normal and Fighting and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu / Pokemon Let's Go Eevee

Mr. Mime Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee Guide

  • At 460 BST, Mr. Mime is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Not competitive in its current form.

  • In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Mr. Mime's biggest threats include Gengar (Poison), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Scizor (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Mr. Mime gets Technician, Soundproof, and Filter. But Technician is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Technician is the hidden ability. It strengthens moves of 60 base power or less to 1.5× their power. Worth hunting for if you want Mr. Mime to compete at a higher level.

  • Mr. Mime is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the pivot role.

Game Availability

Available since Red & Blue, Mr Mime appears in 21 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
