Stats & Training
Yveltal's spread is anchored by Attack, with balanced defenses backing it up. Defense is the clear weak point. Worth 3 HP EVs per KO, and the slow 1.25M XP grind keeps leveling painless.
When this legendary Pokémon’s wings and tail feathers spread wide and glow red, it absorbs the life force of living creatures.
When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more.
Yveltal Weakness
Electric, Ice, Rock, and Fairy moves hit Yveltal for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Psychic-type moves can't touch it at all. Yveltal's overall bulk (126/95/98) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

How to Evolve
Legends: Z-A Yveltal Best Moveset
Start with max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs. Naive nature gives Yveltal the right fast mixed lean, Life Orb adds extra damage on every hit for a health trade, and Darkaura works in the background. Oblivionwing is the main damage option.

Without TMs, Yveltal's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 8 types on top of Sky Attack and Hurricane for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

How to Get Yveltal in Legends: Z-A
Yveltal doesn't appear in Legends: Z-A. Transfer it from Y or Ultra Moon to add it to your collection. Check the source games below for encounter details.
Yveltal Guide
For the Legends: Z-A meta, At 680 BST, Yveltal is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a pivot. Oblivionwing with Life Orb is the standard set.
Dark Aura strengthens dark moves to 1.33× their power for all friendly and opposing Pokémon. That's the one you want on Yveltal. It's the only ability Yveltal has.
In Legends: Z-A, Yveltal fills the pivot role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 131 Attack). Base 99 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
For Legends: Z-A, Yveltal has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Electric, Ice, and Rock-type attackers hit hardest.
