Stats & Training
Speed and HP carry most of Weedle's stat budget. Special's the obvious dump stat. Easy to catch and yields 1 Speed stat exp. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Beware of the sharp stinger on its head. It hides in grass and bushes where it eats leaves.
Weedle Weakness
Fire, Flying, Psychic, Bug, and Rock moves hit Weedle for super-effective damage. 5 weaknesses means you'll want teammates that can handle the coverage gaps.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
In Yellow, Slowbro can KO Weedle with Surf (136-160%). Articuno threatens a KO with Blizzard (159-187%). Golem's Explosion also KOs at 233-274%.

Moves
Not a lot to pick from. Weedle gets Poison Sting for same-type damage, and limited coverage rounds things out. You're building around what's available rather than choosing from a deep bench.
