Venusaur's stats barely vary. 6 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 3 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs, 1.06M XP medium-slow curve to max.

Venusaur Weakness
Venusaur's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black & White, Dragonite can KO Venusaur with Outrage (86-101%). Volcarona's Fire Blast also KOs at 123-145%.

How to Get Venusaur in Black & White
No wild encounters for Venusaur in Black & White. Bring Bulbasaur over from Red, Yellow, or Brilliant Diamond, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
Venusaur Guide
In Black & White, Don't let Venusaur's 525 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a setup sweeper. Giga Drain with Black Sludge is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Black & White, but Venusaur does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Venusaur hits 625 BST.
In Black & White, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Venusaur. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
In Black & White, Run Chlorophyll on Venusaur. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Venusaur also gets Overgrow, but they don't compare.
In Black & White, Venusaur fills the setup sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 82 Attack. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Venusaur first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 21 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7 and a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
