Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Sp. Atk carry the offense, Defense doesn't even come close. A Toxic Mouth Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Attack EVs per KO.
Its knuckle claws secrete a toxin so vile that even a scratch could prove fatal.
The toxin made in its poison sacs is pumped to the knuckle claws through tubes down its arms.
Toxicroak Weakness
Type-wise, Toxicroak takes extra damage from Psychic, Ground, and Flying. Watch out for Psychic attacks, those deal 4x damage. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Toxicroak leans offensive (base 106 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.

Toxicroak Guide
In Diamond & Pearl, Dry Skin changes the entire equation for Toxicroak. The 490 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker. Sucker Punch with Black Sludge is the standard set.
Dry Skin is what you want on Toxicroak. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Anticipation, Poison Touch) work on paper but Dry Skin is what makes Toxicroak worth using.
Base 85 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Toxicroak is a physical attacker with base 106 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
In Diamond & Pearl, the best way to handle Toxicroak: Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.
