Stats & Training

Nothing fancy in Tauros's spread. It leans physical with Speed out front. And you'll get 2 Attack and Speed EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.

They live in groups. The one with the longest, thickest, and most-scarred horns is the boss of the herd.

Tauros Weakness

Tauros is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. Tauros's physical bulk (base 95 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Tauros Best Moveset

Earthquake is the safe click most turns. Choice Scarf locks Tauros into it but rewards with speed patching through item lock. Jolly nature and max Attack and Speed EVs maximize that first hit. Intimidate helps on the margins.

Tauros Guide

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Tauros looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Intimidate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier sweeper on our tier list. Earthquake with Choice Scarf is the standard set.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Tauros's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Tauros gets Intimidate, Anger Point, and Sheer Force. But Intimidate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 110 Speed, Intimidate gives Tauros an edge before opponents can react.

  • Tauros is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.

  • For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the core moveset is Earthquake, Double Edge, Wild Charge, and Ironhead. Earthquake leads at 22% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Available since Red & Blue, Tauros appears in 20 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Paldean form in Generation 9.
