Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Swanna's Speed does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Swanna start to dance at dusk. The one dancing in the middle is the leader of the flock.
It administers sharp, powerful pecks with its bill. It whips its long neck to deliver forceful repeated strikes.
Swanna Weakness
Electric and Rock moves hit Swanna for super-effective damage. Electric hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. The Water/Flying typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Electric |
| 2x (Weak) | Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Fighting, Bug, Steel |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Swanna to get Ducklett eggs easily using 45 partners from the Flying and Water1 egg groups. Notable egg moves include Air Cutter, Brine, Gust and 4 more.
Black & White Swanna Best Moveset
Swanna leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

Swanna best EVs are Sp. Atk and Speed

Without breeding, Swanna misses out on Air Cutter and Brine. That's 7 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Brave Bird and Hurricane, with Normal and Ice coverage rounding things out.

Swanna Guide
In Black & White, Swanna brings 473 BST to the table. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Black & White's meta. Scald with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Black & White, watch for Raikou (Electric) and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Swanna. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Raikou is the most dangerous since Electric moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Keen Eye prevents accuracy from being lowered. That's the one you want on Swanna. Hydration is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Big Pecks works too if your team needs something different.
Swanna is a special attacker with base 87 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 98 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
In Black & White, run Scald, Ice Beam, Tailwind, and Hurricane on Swanna. Scald is the most common pick at 14% usage. Scald provides reliable STAB damage.
