Moves

Most of Solrock's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Stone Edge and Dream Eater, but Normal and Fire and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

Solrock Guide

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Solrock's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Venusaur (Grass), and Rhydon (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Solrock can work for a story run. 440 BST is average, but Rock/Psychic typing fills a niche depending on your team composition.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Solrock looks average on paper at 440 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. D-Tier on our tier list.

  • Solrock gets Levitate. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Rock/Psychic gives Solrock 5 resistances. Attack is the best stat at base 95. Dual typing means STAB coverage on both Rock and Psychic moves.
