Stats & Training
Attack leads and HP gets almost nothing. That's Shedinja's stat line in a nutshell. 1 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 2 HP EVs.
A peculiar POKéMON that floats in air even though its wings remain completely still. The inside of its body is hollow and utterly dark.
Shedinja Weakness
Shedinja is weak to Fire, Flying, Rock, Ghost, and Dark. On the flip side, it's immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves entirely. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Wonder Guard makes Shedinja immune to all non-super-effective damage.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Flying, Rock, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Poison, Ground, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Normal, Fighting |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Shedinja Guide
In Emerald, Shedinja's biggest threats include Arcanine (Fire), Salamence (Flying), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 40 Speed, Shedinja won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Honestly, in Emerald Shedinja is a tough sell at 236 BST. Plenty of stronger Bug/Ghost options exist. Fun pick, not a practical one.
In Emerald, Wonder Guard changes the entire equation for Shedinja. The 236 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a trick room. Shadow Ball with Lum Berry is the standard set.
Wonder Guard is what you want on Shedinja. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.
