Stats & Training
Roselia's built around special offense. Sp. Atk leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Common in the wild, worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
A ROSELIA that drinks nutritionally rich springwater blooms with lovely flowers. The fragrance of its flowers has the effect of making its foes careless.
Roselia Weakness
Roselia's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Roselia's special bulk (base 80 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
In Emerald, Aerodactyl can KO Roselia with Double-Edge (103-121%). Starmie's Ice Beam hits Roselia for 45-53%. Charizard's Fire Blast also KOs at 88-104%.

Emerald Evolution
Roselia is partway through a three-stage line between Budew and Roserade. The chain involves an evolution item, so it's not a straightforward grind. So far, Sp.Atk got the biggest boost (+50 from Budew). The final form adds another 115 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Roselia to get Budew eggs easily using 27 partners from the Fairy and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Cotton Spore, Pin Missile, Spikes and 1 more.
Emerald Roselia Best Moveset
Spikes is the priority every time Roselia comes in. Calm nature and max HP and Sp. Def EVs keep it alive long enough to get layers down, while Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn. Natural Cure rounds it out.

Roselia Guide
In Emerald, Roselia isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Roserade to unlock its full potential. At 400 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Emerald, Run Natural Cure on Roselia. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Roselia also gets Poison Point and Leaf Guard, but they don't compare.
In Emerald, Roselia fills the attacker role. It's a mixed attacker with base 60 Attack and 100 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
Game Availability
Roselia has been available in 16 games since Ruby & Sapphire, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
