Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Mienfoo Best Moveset

One guaranteed turn is all Mienfoo needs. Focus Sash buys it, max HP and Attack EVs make it count, and Reckless adds something extra. The goal: deal early damage and deal damage with Fakeout. The remaining moves gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

Mienfoo Guide

  • Mienfoo is meant to evolve into Mienshao. At 350 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Braviary (Flying), Alakazam (Psychic), and Clefable (Fairy) when using Mienfoo. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Regenerator is what you want on Mienfoo. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Inner Focus, Reckless) work on paper but Regenerator is what makes Mienfoo worth using.

  • At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Mienfoo is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Defensively? Fragile, can't afford to take many hits.

  • For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, you can run Mienfoo through the first few routes without issues. 350 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Mienshao as fast as you can.

Game Availability

Mienfoo joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
