Stats & Training
Speed and Sp. Def carry most of Luvdisc's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Easy to catch and yields 1 Speed EV. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
LUVDISC make the branches of CORSOLA their nests. There is a custom from long ago of giving a LUVDISC as a gift to express one’s feelings of love.
Luvdisc Weakness
Type-wise, Luvdisc takes extra damage from Electric and Grass. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Just 2 weak spots to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Steel |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Luvdisc Guide
Honestly, in Emerald Luvdisc is a tough sell at 330 BST. Plenty of stronger Water options exist. Fun pick, not a practical one.
In Emerald, Swift Swim changes the entire equation for Luvdisc. The 330 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked D-Tier.
Swift Swim is what you want on Luvdisc. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Hydration) work on paper but Swift Swim is what makes Luvdisc worth using.
Luvdisc's best stat is Speed at base 97. Water gives decent defensive coverage with 4 resistances.
