Lumineon Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Swift Swim changes the entire equation for Lumineon. The 460 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a pivot. Scald with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Raikou (Electric) and Breloom (Grass) when using Lumineon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Swift Swim is what you want on Lumineon. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Storm Drain, Water Veil) work on paper but Swift Swim is what makes Lumineon worth using.

  • Base 91 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Lumineon is a special attacker with base 69 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Scald, Defog, U Turn, and Toxic on Lumineon. Scald is the most common pick at 25% usage. Scald provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Available in 13 titles since its debut in Diamond & Pearl, Lumineon spans 7 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in a solid number of games.
