It shouts loudly by inhaling air, and then uses its well-developed stomach muscles to exhale.

Loudred Weakness

Type-wise, Loudred takes extra damage from Fighting. Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Only 1 weakness makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.

Stall teams hate this. Loudred can spread damage across 10 types, with Ghost and Dark punishing common defensive pivots. STAB from Double-Edge and Mega Kick keeps the pressure honest on everything else.

How to Get Loudred in X & Y

Can't catch Loudred directly. Start with Whismur at solid rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 20. The 2-stage line from Whismur to Loudred is where the leveling time goes.

How to Obtain Loudred in X & Y

Whismur is your first catch on the way to Loudred. You'll find walking encounters from Lv. 7-15 across 4 total spots in the chain.

Loudred Guide

  • In X & Y, Loudred isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Exploud to unlock its full potential. At 360 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • In X & Y, Loudred's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In X & Y, Whismur evolves into Loudred at level 20. Loudred evolves into Exploud at level 40. Loudred is a middle-stage evolution in the Whismur line.

  • Soundproof is the go-to ability for Loudred. It protects against sound-based moves. Its hidden ability Scrappy can work in specific setups.

  • In X & Y, Loudred fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 71 Attack and 71 Sp. Atk. Base 48 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

Game Availability

Loudred first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 14 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through catching or hatching as a base form in most titles where it appears.
