Landorus Weakness

Ice and Water moves hit Landorus for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric and Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. With 89 HP and balanced defenses, Landorus can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Landorus develops a solid moveset just through leveling. Hammer Arm and Outrage show up naturally, and the progression handles both STAB and utility without leaning on TMs for the core attacks.

Landorus Guide

  • For the Sun & Moon meta, At 600 BST, Landorus is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper. Earthpower with Life Orb is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, watch for Lapras (Ice) and Starmie (Water) when using Landorus. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Sun & Moon, Run Sheer Force on Landorus. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Landorus also gets Sand Force, but they don't compare. With base 101 Speed, Sheer Force gives Landorus an edge before opponents can react.

  • In Sun & Moon, Landorus fills the sweeper role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 125 Attack). Base 101 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Sun & Moon, Landorus's hidden ability is Sheer Force. Strengthens moves with extra effects to 1.3× their power, but prevents their extra effects. Better than the standard options for competitive play.

Game Availability

Landorus has appeared in 9 games since Black & White, spanning 6 generations. As a Legendary, it's typically a one-per-save encounter tied to the story or post-game content.
