Heatmor's Fire typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Rock. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

In Black 2 & White 2, Excadrill can KO Heatmor with Earthquake (146-172%). Terrakion threatens a KO with Stone Edge (142-167%). Starmie's Hydro Pump also KOs at 131-154%.

Gluttony isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Salacberry for extra utility and flexible EVs, Heatmor fills the special attacker slot reliably. Timid nature finishes the spread.

Heatmor Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Flash Fire changes the entire equation for Heatmor. The 484 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker. Fire Blast with Salacberry is the standard set.
Flash Fire is what you want on Heatmor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Gluttony, White Smoke) work on paper but Flash Fire is what makes Heatmor worth using.
At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Heatmor is a mixed attacker with base 97 Attack and 105 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Fire Blast, Giga Drain, Will O Wisp, and Hiddenpowerrock on Heatmor. Fire Blast is the most common pick at 24% usage. This set covers the attacker role with a mix of damage and utility.
