Raw HP carries Exploud's bulk more than the defenses do. Defense barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A tough to catch Loud Noise Pokemon that yields 3 HP EVs on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

It emits a variety of sounds from the holes all over its body. Its loud cries can be heard from over six miles away.

Exploud Weakness

Exploud's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. With 104 HP and balanced defenses, Exploud can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Exploud won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Hyper Beam and Double-Edge anchor the STAB core.

Exploud Guide

  • For FireRed & LeafGreen, we rate Exploud D-Tier: outclassed by other options available in FireRed & LeafGreen. At 490 BST, the stats are spread pretty evenly. Base 104 HP stands out.

  • In FireRed & LeafGreen, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Exploud. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Soundproof protects against sound-based moves. That's the one you want on Exploud. Scrappy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • At base 68 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exploud is a physical attacker with base 91 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • For FireRed & LeafGreen, Exploud has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fighting-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Available in 14 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Exploud spans 8 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in a solid number of games.
