Still the most common cave encounter from the first hour. The Crobat payoff through friendship evolution is worth the grind. Poison/Flying typing takes a hit from Fantina's Ghost gym at the third badge, but recovers from there.
Friendship is usually high enough before you reach Byron.

Where To Catch Zubat in Pt
To get Zubat, start by catching Zubat through walking and surfing encounters at Lv. 3-53. The chain covers 2 catchable stages before reaching the final form.
Leave a compatible parent at the Pokemon Day Care to receive a Crobat egg.
Zubat Weakness
Electric, Ice, Psychic, and Rock moves hit Zubat for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. The Poison/Flying typing picks up 4 resistances to work with.

Zubat kicks off a three-stage evolution line through Golbat all the way to Crobat. For breeding, quick to hatch with a decent partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 290 total stats over Zubat. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
Stats across the board in the 30-55 range leave this moveset with no offensive or defensive role. Poison/Flying typing and AbilityInner Focus don't help when the numbers can't back them up. Crobat is the destination.
Don't skip the egg moves. Zubat picks up Brave Bird and Curse only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Brave Bird and Fly while coverage across 9 types adds range.
