Is Turtwig Good in Platinum Playthrough?
Grass starter. Roark is neutral, Gardenia mirrors you, then Fantina's Ghost gym at the third badge can't touch Torterra's Ground moves. Strong mid-game run through Wake and Byron. Candice's Ice is brutal though, and Flint's all-Fire E4 hurts. A starter that peaks in the middle stretch.
Turtwig has the type edge here and should clean up Roark's team.
Gardenia's team hits Grotle's weaknesses hard.
Grotle trades roughly evenly with Fantina's team.
Grotle trades roughly evenly with Maylene's team.
Torterra has the type edge here and should clean up Crasher Wake's team.
Torterra resists most of Byron's coverage and hits back hard.
Torterra has the type edge here and should clean up Candice's team.
Torterra has the type edge here and should clean up Volkner's team.
Torterra trades roughly evenly with Aaron's team.
