Although this Pokémon isn’t very strong, its body is coated in a caustic slime that can melt through anything, so predators steer clear of it.
The lump on its back contains its tiny brain. It thinks only of food and escaping its enemies.
Sliggoo Sword & Shield Guide
In Sword & Shield, Sliggoo isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Goodra to unlock its full potential. At 452 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Sword & Shield, Run Sap Sipper on Sliggoo. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Sliggoo also gets Hydration and Gooey, but they don't compare.
In Sword & Shield, Sliggoo fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Sword & Shield, Sliggoo does the job early-game if you need a Dragon type on your team. Evolve it into Goodra before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Sliggoo first appeared in X & Y and spans 8 games across 5 generations. It later gained a Hisuian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
