Heliolisk Weakness
Heliolisk's Electric/Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting and Ground. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Heliolisk's special bulk (base 94 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

It stimulates its muscles with electricity, boosting the strength in its legs and enabling it to run 100 yards in five seconds.
Heliolisk X & Y Guide
In X & Y, Heliolisk looks average on paper at 481 BST. But Dry Skin is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list. Hypervoice with Life Orb is the standard set.
In X & Y, watch for Machamp (Fighting) and Golem (Ground) when using Heliolisk. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Heliolisk's base 109 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Heliolisk gets Dry Skin, Sand Veil, and Solar Power. But Dry Skin is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 109 Speed, Dry Skin gives Heliolisk an edge before opponents can react.
Heliolisk is a special attacker with base 109 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 109 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
In X & Y, run Hypervoice, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, and Grassknot on Heliolisk. Hypervoice is the most common pick at 0% usage. Thunderbolt provides reliable STAB damage.
