Is Pidgeot Good in Crystal Playthrough?

Other team members gain MoveIce Beam and MoveThunderbolt from the Goldenrod move tutor, and those Pokemon start pulling ahead in matchups Pidgeot can't reach. It stays reliable through Kanto but never gains a new edge. The safe pick that watches teammates get stronger around it.

Pokemon Crystal

Pidgeot Crystal Guide

  • In Crystal, Pidgeot has a 469 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. It works best as a pivot. Return with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • Mega Evolution isn't available in Crystal, but Pidgeot does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Pidgeot hits 569 BST.

  • In Crystal, Pidgeot's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Cloyster (Ice), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • In Crystal, Pidgeot fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 91 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • For Crystal, the core moveset is Return, Wingattack, Toxic, and Double Edge. Return leads at 0% usage. Return provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Pidgeot first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
