Is Mawile Good in Ruby & Sapphire Playthrough?
Granite Cave and Cave of Origin. Pure Steel in Gen 3 (not Steel/Fairy yet). AbilityIntimidate or AbilityHyper Cutter. The Intimidate option is useful, but Mawile's stats are mediocre with no evolution in Gen 3. Steel typing resists most of Hoenn's common attacks. A defensive novelty.
Mawile resists most of Roxanne's coverage and hits back hard.

Mawile Weakness
Mawile's Steel typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Fighting, and Ground. It shrugs off Poison-type attacks completely. 11 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Mawile's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Fighting, Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Steel |

Mawile Evolutions
Breeding is the whole story for Mawile. A decent partner pool through two egg groups, eggs are average hatch time, and you won't need to evolve anything. It's got 6 egg moves worth looking into. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Mawile easily with 27 breeding partners from the Fairy and Ground egg groups. Pass egg moves like Ancient Power, False Swipe, Poison Fang and 3 more to offspring.
RS Mawile Best Moveset
Steel typing resists many types, and AbilityIntimidate cuts opponent Attack on switch-in. AbilityHyper Cutter prevents Attack drops. 85 Attack is modest. Held ItemLeftovers sustains. Intimidate utility on a Steel frame, though offensive output doesn't threaten top-tier targets.

Moves List
The natural movepool does the job, but Ancient Power and False Swipe from the egg pool give Mawile something extra. Pair those with Steel STAB for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Base Stats
MAWILE’s huge jaws are actually steel horns that have been transformed. Its docile-looking face serves to lull its foe into letting down its guard. When the foe least expects it, MAWILE chomps it with its gaping jaws.
Don’t be taken in by this POKéMON’s cute face - it’s very dangerous. MAWILE fools the foe into letting down its guard, then chomps down with its massive jaws. The steel jaws are really horns that have been transformed.
Mawile Ruby & Sapphire Guide
In Ruby & Sapphire, Don't let Mawile's 380 base stat total fool you. Intimidate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Baton Pass with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Ruby & Sapphire, but Mawile does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Mawile hits 480 BST.
In Ruby & Sapphire, Run Intimidate on Mawile. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Mawile also gets Hyper Cutter, but they don't compare.
In Ruby & Sapphire, Mawile fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Game Availability
Mawile first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and spans 15 games across 8 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
