Gallade Weakness
Gallade's Psychic/Fighting typing leaves it vulnerable to Flying and Ghost. Few weaknesses and 2 resistances make the typing clean. Gallade's special bulk (base 115 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Flying, Ghost |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Rock |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Gallade Platinum Guide
For Platinum, we rate Gallade B-Tier: a solid option in Platinum for the right team. At 518 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Close Combat with Life Orb is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Platinum, but Gallade does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Gallade hits 618 BST.
Steadfast raises Speed one stage upon flinching. That's the one you want on Gallade. Sharpness works too if your team needs something different.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gallade is a physical attacker with base 125 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Diamond & Pearl, Gallade has appeared in 14 titles over 7 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
