Is Fletchling Good in Sword & Shield Playthrough?
Fletchling shows up on Route 1. Normal/Flying heading toward Talonflame at level 35. The Talonflame payoff is a fast Fire/Flying attacker. AbilityGale Wings was nerfed in Gen 7 (priority Flying only at full HP), but the base form's speed still makes it useful. Early catch with good returns.
Fletchling has the type edge here and should clean up Milo's team.

Fletchling Evolutions
Three stages ahead. Fletchling grows into Fletchinder, then pushes on to Talonflame. Check the evolution methods below. For breeding, quick to hatch with a decent partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 221 total stats over Fletchling. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
SwSh Fletchling Best Moveset
Normal/Flying pre-evo with AbilityGale Wings giving priority to Flying moves at full HP. But 50 Attack on base stats this low makes the priority meaningless in competitive play. The moveset is non-functional. Two evolutions from Talonflame, where real stats back up the same priority.

Moves List
Without breeding, Fletchling misses out on Defog and Flame Charge. That's 3 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Fly and Facade, with Fire and Steel coverage and more rounding things out.
