Is Entei Good in Crystal Playthrough?
Roaming Johto after the Burned Tower, same as Gold and Silver. Entei is a strong Fire-type in a game where Fire options are even scarcer than before. TMs carry this one. Entei learns Fire Blast and Flamethrower naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Dark and Normal and beyond give it real matchup play.

Entei Crystal Guide
In Crystal, Entei is a Legendary Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 580 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a sweeper. Fire Blast with Leftovers is the standard set.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Entei is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.
For Crystal, the core moveset is Fire Blast, Sunnyday, Solarbeam, and Hiddenpowerfighting. Fire Blast leads at 0% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.
In Crystal, the best way to handle Entei: Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Game Availability
First obtainable in Gold & Silver, Entei has been featured in 17 titles across 9 generations. Legendary status means a single encounter per playthrough in most games.
