How to Get Dreepy in Sword & Shield

Dreepy sits at low spawn rates across 6 spots in endgame routes. Pick one from the sorted list and commit to it. Jumping between areas wastes more time than waiting in the right location.

Dreepy Weakness

Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy moves hit Dreepy for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.

Pokedex Entry

After being reborn as a ghost Pokémon, Dreepy wanders the areas it used to inhabit back when it was alive in prehistoric seas.

If this weak Pokémon is by itself, a mere child could defeat it. But if Dreepy has friends to help it train, it can evolve and become much stronger.

Dreepy Sword & Shield Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Dreepy does the job early-game if you need a Dragon/Ghost type on your team. Evolve it into Drakloak before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.

Game Availability

Introduced in Sword & Shield, Dreepy has appeared in 2 games across 3 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
