Fire/Fighting gives Blaziken the widest coverage of any RS starter. Handles Roxanne, Norman, Sidney, Glacia, and Steven's Aggron. The Speed is moderate but the dual typing compensates. AbilityBlaze for the Fire boost when HP drops. The strongest all-around starter choice in Ruby and Sapphire.

No wild encounters for Blaziken. The 3-stage chain runs through Torchic, which you can catch but it's a rare spawn from the locations below. Evolve at level 36 once you've got the levels.

In battle, BLAZIKEN blows out intense flames from its wrists and attacks foes courageously. The stronger the foe, the more intensely this POKéMON’s wrists burn.
BLAZIKEN has incredibly strong legs - it can easily clear a 30-story building in one leap. This POKéMON’s blazing punches leave its foes scorched and blackened.
Blaziken Ruby & Sapphire Guide
In Ruby & Sapphire, Blaziken looks average on paper at 530 BST. But Speed Boost is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier cannon on our tier list. Fire Blast with Salacberry is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Ruby & Sapphire, but Blaziken does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Blaziken hits 630 BST.
In Ruby & Sapphire, watch for Starmie (Water), Golem (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Blaziken. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
Blaze strengthens fire moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Blaziken. It's the only ability Blaziken has.
Blaziken is a mixed attacker with base 120 Attack and 110 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the cannon role.

Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Blaziken appears in 16 games spanning 8 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
