Is Annihilape Good in Scarlet & Violet Playthrough?

Fighting/Ghost Annihilape is the new evolution from Primeape after using Rage Fist 20 times. Massive stats with only one weakness (Fairy, but Ghost gives it Normal and Fighting immunity). Rage Fist gains power with every hit Annihilape takes, eventually reaching devastating levels. One of the strongest Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. Top-tier team pick.

Annihilape Weakness

Annihilape's Fighting/Ghost typing leaves it vulnerable to Flying, Psychic, Ghost, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. Annihilape's overall bulk (110/80/90) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Pokedex Entry

When its anger rose beyond a critical point, this Pokémon gained power that is unfettered by the limits of its physical body.

It imbues its fists with the power of the rage that it kept hidden in its heart. Opponents struck by these imbued fists will be shattered to their core.

Annihilape Scarlet & Violet Guide

  • For Scarlet & Violet, we rate Annihilape B-Tier: a solid option in Scarlet & Violet for the right team. At 535 BST, it fits the pivot role. Ragefist with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Scarlet & Violet, watch for Aerodactyl (Flying), Espeon (Psychic), and Chandelure (Ghost) when using Annihilape. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Fairy-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Vital Spirit prevents sleep. That's the one you want on Annihilape. Defiant is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Inner Focus works too if your team needs something different.

  • Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Annihilape is a physical attacker with base 115 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a pivot.

  • In Scarlet & Violet, run Ragefist, Ragefist, Drain Punch, and Drain Punch on Annihilape. Ragefist is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Annihilape joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 2 titles so far. With 2 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
