Stats & Training
Attack and HP carry most of Zweilous's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
The two heads do not get along. Whichever head eats more than the other gets to be the leader.
After it has eaten up all the food in its territory, it moves to another area. Its two heads do not get along.
Zweilous Weakness
Type-wise, Zweilous takes extra damage from Fairy, Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Dragon. Watch out for Fairy attacks, those deal 4x damage. Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fairy |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Fighting, Bug, Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ghost, Dark |
| 0x (Immune) | Psychic |
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Latios can KO Zweilous with Draco Meteor (174-205%). Hitmontop threatens a KO with Close Combat (110-129%).

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Evolution
Partway through Deino's chain. Zweilous still has another evolution ahead before reaching Hydreigon. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with a decent partner pool via one egg group. HP has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 180 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Hustle and Eviolite give Zweilous staying power beyond its evolution stage. Adamant nature boosts Attack, max Attack and Speed EVs set the spread, and the pre-evolution bulk actually works here.

Zweilous Guide
Zweilous is meant to evolve into Hydreigon. At 420 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Zweilous's biggest threats include Gardevoir (Fairy), Kyurem (Ice), and Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Gardevoir is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Bug and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Hustle is the go-to ability for Zweilous. It strengthens physical moves to inflict 1.5× damage, but decreases their accuracy to 0.8×. It's Zweilous's only ability.
At base 58 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Zweilous is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Zweilous joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
