Most of Zekrom's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Bolt Strike and Draco Meteor, but Rock and Normal and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

How to Get Zekrom in X & Y

Zekrom Guide

  • In X & Y, Zekrom is a Legendary Pokemon rated S-Tier. At 680 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a wallbreaker. That 150 base Attack does the heavy lifting.

  • In X & Y, Zekrom's biggest threats include Kyurem (Ice), Garchomp (Ground), and Kingdra (Dragon), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. Zekrom has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Teravolt is the go-to ability for Zekrom. It bypasses targets' abilities if they could hinder or prevent moves. It's Zekrom's only ability.

  • Zekrom is a physical attacker with base 150 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.

  • In X & Y, the best way to handle Zekrom: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.

Game Availability

Since Black & White, Zekrom has appeared in 8 games. Legendary Pokemon like Zekrom are usually found through story events or special post-game areas rather than random encounters.
