It attacks by spraying a horribly smelly fluid from the tip of its tail. Attacks from above confound it.

Black & White Skuntank Best Moveset

Skuntank doesn't rely on pure speed. Black Sludge gives it Poison-type passive recovery to stay healthy, and Brave nature still pushes offense. Pursuit and utility options keep the pressure on while max Attack without Speed EVs balance power and survivability.

Skuntank Guide

  • In Black & White, Skuntank has a 479 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Black & White's meta. It works best as a balanced. Sucker Punch with Black Sludge is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, watch for Garchomp (Ground) when using Skuntank. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Stench has a 10% chance of making target Pokémon flinch with each hit. That's the one you want on Skuntank. Keen Eye is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Aftermath works too if your team needs something different.

  • In Black & White, Skuntank fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 93 Attack. Base 84 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Black & White, run Sucker Punch, Pursuit, Fire Blast, and Taunt on Skuntank. Sucker Punch is the most common pick at 25% usage. Pursuit provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Skuntank first appeared in Diamond & Pearl and has been available in 13 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
