Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Speed and Attack carry the offense, Defense doesn't even come close. An Ember Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Speed EVs per KO.
It loves sweets because they become energy for the fire burning inside its body.
A flame burns inside its body. It scatters embers from its head and tail to sear its opponents.
Simisear Weakness
Type-wise, Simisear takes extra damage from Water, Ground, and Rock. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Simisear leans offensive (base 98 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Ground, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black & White, Excadrill can KO Simisear with Earthquake (168-198%). Terrakion threatens a KO with Stone Edge (163-192%). Politoed deals 79-93% with Scald.

Simisear Guide
For Black & White, we rate Simisear C-Tier: a niche pick in Black & White's meta. At 498 BST, it fits the pivot role. Flamethrower with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Black & White, Simisear's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Landorus (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Simisear's base 101 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Gluttony is the go-to ability for Simisear. It makes the Pokémon eat any held Berry triggered by low HP below 1/2 its max HP. Its hidden ability Blaze can work in specific setups.
Base 101 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Simisear is a special attacker with base 98 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.
For Black & White, the core moveset is Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, and Gunkshot. Flamethrower leads at 21% usage. Flamethrower provides reliable STAB damage.
