Black & White Simisear Best Moveset

Flamethrower is the main STAB option after a Nasty Plot boost. Life Orb gives Simisear extra damage on every hit for a health trade to survive the setup turn, and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs make the boosted hits count. The remaining moves catches resists.

The egg pool carries weight here. Astonish and Covet aren't available any other way for Simisear, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Overheat and Fire Blast for solid options.

Simisear Guide

  • For Black & White, we rate Simisear C-Tier: a niche pick in Black & White's meta. At 498 BST, it fits the pivot role. Flamethrower with Life Orb is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, Simisear's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Landorus (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Simisear's base 101 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.

  • Gluttony is the go-to ability for Simisear. It makes the Pokémon eat any held Berry triggered by low HP below 1/2 its max HP. Its hidden ability Blaze can work in specific setups.

  • Base 101 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Simisear is a special attacker with base 98 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • For Black & White, the core moveset is Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, and Gunkshot. Flamethrower leads at 21% usage. Flamethrower provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Simisear joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
