Shaymin Weakness
Shaymin is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Shaymin's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Grass, Ground |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black & White, Dragonite's Outrage hits Shaymin for 65-77%. Volcarona threatens a KO with Fire Blast (108-128%).

Shaymin Guide
In Black & White, Shaymin is a Mythical Pokemon rated C-Tier. At 600 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a support. Earthpower with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Black & White, Shaymin's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Crobat (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Shaymin has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
In Black & White, Run Natural Cure on Shaymin. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche.
In Black & White, Shaymin fills the support role. It's a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
In Black & White, the best way to handle Shaymin: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ice, and Poison-type attackers hit hardest.
