Stats & Training
Pidgeot's stats barely vary. 3 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 3 Speed EVs, 1.06M XP medium-slow curve to max.
By flapping its wings with all its might, PIDGEOT can make a gust of wind capable of bending tall trees.
Pidgeot Weakness
Type-wise, Pidgeot takes extra damage from Electric, Ice, and Rock. Ground and Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 83 HP and balanced defenses, Pidgeot can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground, Ghost |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Platinum, Zapdos can KO Pidgeot with Thunderbolt (85-101%). Aerodactyl threatens a KO with Stone Edge (96-114%). Weavile deals 43-50% with Ice Shard.

Platinum Evolution
Pidgeot is the final form in a three-stage chain from Pidgey through Pidgeotto. Breeding this form produces Pidgey eggs (quick to hatch). Evolving from Pidgey gave Pidgeot the biggest boost in HP (+43), bringing the total to 469 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Pidgeot to get Pidgey eggs easily using 31 partners from the Flying egg group. Notable egg moves include Air Cutter, Air Slash, Brave Bird and 5 more.
Platinum Pidgeot Best Moveset
Nothing fancy here. Pidgeot builds around Sitrus Berry for a one-time health recovery at low HP, Hardy nature for the right stat lean, and max HP and Attack EVs. Keeneye does its job quietly.

Moves
The egg pool carries weight here. Air Cutter and Air Slash aren't available any other way for Pidgeot, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Giga Impact and Hyper Beam for solid options.

How to Get Pidgeot in Platinum
Pidgeot doesn't appear wild. Catch Pidgey instead, it shows up at solid rates. Evolve it at level 36 to get Pidgeot. The 3-stage chain is mapped in the step cards below.
Pidgeot Guide
In Platinum, Pidgeot has a 469 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Platinum's meta. It works best as a balanced. Fly with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Platinum, but Pidgeot does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Pidgeot hits 569 BST.
Keen Eye is the go-to ability for Pidgeot. It prevents accuracy from being lowered. Its hidden ability Big Pecks can work in specific setups. Tangled Feet is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
In Platinum, Pidgeot fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 80 Attack and 70 Sp. Atk. Base 91 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Pidgeot first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
