Stats & Training
Oranguru's spread favors special bulk over offense. Sp. Def leads the defensive side, Attack eats the cost. Yields 2 Sp. Def EVs per defeat. Slow 1.25M XP grind to level.
People used to mistake Oranguru for a human when they saw it issue command after command to the other Pokémon of the forest.
This Pokémon lives quietly in the depths of the forest. The purple, cape-like fur gets longer and longer as Oranguru ages.
Oranguru Weakness
Bug and Dark moves hit Oranguru for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Oranguru's special bulk (base 110 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Oranguru Guide
In Scarlet & Violet, Oranguru has a 490 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Scarlet & Violet's meta. It works best as a balanced. Instruct with Mental Herb is the standard set.
Inner Focus prevents flinching. That's the one you want on Oranguru. Symbiosis is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Telepathy works too if your team needs something different.
In Scarlet & Violet, Oranguru fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
For Scarlet & Violet, Oranguru has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Bug and Dark-type attackers hit hardest.
