Stats & Training
The stat line revolves around HP. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Attack backs it up, though Speed doesn't pull its weight. Worth 2 HP and Attack stat exp on a medium-fast 1M XP curve to max out.
Smells so awful, it can cause fainting. Through degeneration, it lost its sense of smell.
Muk Weakness
Ground, Psychic, and Bug moves hit Muk for super-effective damage. With 105 HP and balanced defenses, Muk can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ground, Psychic, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting, Poison |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split

Muk Guide
In Yellow, Muk works as an attacker with 465 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Yellow's meta. Explosion anchors the moveset.
Muk is a physical attacker with base 105 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the attacker role.
In Yellow, run Explosion, Acidarmor, Sludge, and Body Slam on Muk. Explosion is the most common pick at 22% usage. Sludge provides reliable STAB damage.
For Yellow, Muk has answers, but so do you. Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.
