Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Luxio's Attack does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Attack EVs per KO. Common in the wild, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Its claws loose electricity with enough amperage to cause fainting. They live in small groups.
Strong electricity courses through the tips of its sharp claws. A light scratch causes fainting in foes.
Luxio Weakness
Luxio is weak to Ground. Not many exploitable gaps in the Electric typing defensive chart. Luxio's Electric typing only leaves 1 gap to cover.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Electric, Flying, Steel |
In X & Y, Gastrodon's Scald hits Luxio for 64-76%. Landorus threatens a KO with Earthquake (207-243%).

How to Get Luxio in X & Y
Luxio Guide
At 363 BST, Luxio is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Luxray before bringing it to any serious fight.
In X & Y, Luxio's biggest threats include Golem (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Luxio gets Intimidate, Rivalry, and Guts. But Intimidate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Luxio is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Fragile, can't afford to take many hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
Game Availability
Debuting in Diamond & Pearl, Luxio appears in 13 games across 7 generations. A reliable presence in a solid number of games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
