How to Get Kricketune in X & Y

Kricketune isn't available in the wild in X & Y. Start by transferring Kricketot from Diamond, Platinum, or Brilliant Diamond. The evolution path from Kricketot to Kricketune is covered in the steps below.

How to Obtain Kricketune in X & Y

  1. Kricketune
    Step 2Kricketune

Kricketune Guide

  • In X & Y, Kricketune's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Staraptor (Flying), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • In X & Y, Kricketot evolves into Kricketune at level 10. Kricketune is the fully evolved form.

  • Honestly, in X & Y Kricketune is a tough sell at 384 BST. Plenty of stronger Bug options exist. Fun pick, not a practical one.

  • In X & Y, Don't let Kricketune's 384 base stat total fool you. Technician is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Bugbite with Muscleband is the standard set.

  • In X & Y, Run Technician on Kricketune. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Kricketune also gets Swarm, but they don't compare.

Game Availability

Kricketune first appeared in Diamond & Pearl and has been available in 12 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
