Klinklang Weakness

Fire, Fighting, and Ground moves hit Klinklang for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. With 11 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Klinklang's physical bulk (base 115 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Klinklang Guide

  • For Black & White, we rate Klinklang C-Tier: a niche pick in Black & White's meta. At 520 BST, it fits the pivot role. Geargrind with Life Orb is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Blaziken (Fighting), and Garchomp (Ground) when using Klinklang. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Plus increases Special Attack to 1.5× when a friendly Pokémon has plus or minus. That's the one you want on Klinklang. Clear Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Minus works too if your team needs something different.

  • Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Klinklang is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • In Black & White, run Geargrind, Shiftgear, Wild Charge, and Return on Klinklang. Geargrind is the most common pick at 23% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Klinklang joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
