Stats & Training
An unusually even spread gives Jirachi flexibility. HP barely edges ahead. But any other stat isn't far off. Near-impossible to catch and follows a slow 1.25M XP grind. Yields 3 HP EVs.

Jirachi Weakness
Fire and Ground moves hit Jirachi for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. With 8 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Jirachi's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Rock, Dragon, Steel |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Psychic |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

How to Get Jirachi in HeartGold & SoulSilver
Jirachi is not available as a wild encounter in this game.
This is an event-exclusive or special distribution.
Jirachi Guide
For the HeartGold & SoulSilver meta, At 600 BST, Jirachi is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper. Ironhead with Leftovers is the standard set.
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, watch for Arcanine (Fire) and Swampert (Ground) when using Jirachi. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Jirachi has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Serene Grace doubles the chance of moves' extra effects occurring. That's the one you want on Jirachi. It's the only ability Jirachi has.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Jirachi is a mixed attacker with base 100 Attack and 100 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a sweeper.
For HeartGold & SoulSilver, Jirachi has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Game Availability
Jirachi first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 15 titles. Mythical distribution means event-only access in most games, making it one of the harder Pokemon to collect.
