Moves

Don't skip the egg moves. Hattrem picks up After You and Aromatic Mist only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Psychic and Psyshock while Dark and Fairy coverage and more adds range.

or evolve from Hatenna (Step 1)

Hattrem Guide

  • At 370 BST, Hattrem is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Hatterene before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Genesect (Bug), Gengar (Ghost), and Houndoom (Dark) when using Hattrem. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • In Sword & Shield, Hatenna evolves into Hattrem at level 32. Hattrem evolves into Hatterene at level 42. Hattrem is a middle-stage evolution in the Hatenna line.

  • Hattrem gets Magic Bounce, Healer, and Anticipation. But Magic Bounce is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • In Sword & Shield, Hattrem's hidden ability is Magic Bounce. Reflects most non-damaging moves back at their user. Better than the standard options for competitive play.

Game Availability

Since Sword & Shield, Hattrem has been obtainable in 2 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Hattrem has appeared steadily across every generation since.
