There was an era when aristocrats would compete to see who could trim their Furfrou’s fur into the most exquisite style.

Furfrou Weakness

Furfrou is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. Furfrou's special bulk (base 90 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Furfrou Guide

  • In Sun & Moon, Fur Coat changes the entire equation for Furfrou. The 472 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a support. Cottonguard with Red Card is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, Furfrou's biggest threats include Hitmonlee (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Fur Coat is what you want on Furfrou. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.

  • Base 102 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Furfrou is a special attacker with base 65 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.

  • For Sun & Moon, the core moveset is Cottonguard, Rest, Roar, and Sleep Talk. Cottonguard leads at 19% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
