Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Dragapult's Speed does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
When it isn’t battling, it keeps Dreepy in the holes on its horns. Once a fight starts, it launches the Dreepy like supersonic missiles.
Apparently the Dreepy inside Dragapult’s horns eagerly look forward to being launched out at Mach speeds.
Dragapult Weakness
Dragapult's Dragon/Ghost typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Bug |

Sword & Shield Evolution
The three-stage chain from Dreepy through Drakloak ends here at Dragapult. Want more? Breed for Dreepy eggs. A decent partner pool available via two egg groups. The evolution from Dreepy pushed Dragapult to 600 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +60. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Dragapult to get Dreepy eggs easily using 46 partners from the Indeterminate and Dragon egg groups. Notable egg moves include Confuse Ray, Curse, Disable and 4 more.
Sword & Shield Dragapult Best Moveset
Prediction matters here. Choice Specs means Dragapult can't change moves after clicking, but the payoff is boosted special damage with move lock. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs with Infiltrator back that up. Fire coverage prevents free switches.

Moves
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Dragapult won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Outrage and Dragon Rush anchor the STAB core.

How to Get Dragapult in Sword & Shield
Can't catch Dragapult directly. Start with Dreepy but it's a rare spawn from the locations below, then evolve at level 60. The 3-stage chain from Dreepy to Dragapult is where the leveling time goes.
How to Obtain Dragapult in Sword & Shield
To get Dragapult, start by catching Dreepy through walking encounters at Lv. 50-65. The chain covers 2 catchable stages before reaching the final form.

Dragapult Guide
In Sword & Shield, Dragapult works as a sweeper with 600 BST behind it. S-Tier on our list: one of the best picks in the Sword & Shield meta. Draco Meteor with Choice Specs is the standard set.
Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Dragapult. Cursed Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Infiltrator works too if your team needs something different.
Dragapult is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 142 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
For Sword & Shield, Dragapult has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Game Availability
Since Sword & Shield, Dragapult has been obtainable in 2 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Dragapult has appeared steadily across every generation since.
