Diancie Guide

  • For the Sword & Shield meta, At 600 BST, Diancie is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as an attacker. Diamondstorm with Weakness Policy is the standard set.

  • Mega Evolution isn't available in Sword & Shield, but Diancie does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Diancie hits 700 BST.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Aegislash (Steel), Greninja (Water), and Venusaur (Grass) when using Diancie. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Aegislash is the most dangerous since Steel moves deal 4x damage. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. Diancie has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Diancie. It's the only ability Diancie has.

  • Diancie is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the attacker role.

Introduced in X & Y, Diancie shows up in 7 games across 5 generations. Mythical status keeps it locked behind events or specific story content in most appearances.
