Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Cinderace's Speed does the work, Sp. Atk pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Infused with Cinderace’s fighting spirit, the gigantic Pyro Ball never misses its targets and completely roasts opponents.
Gigantamax energy can sometimes cause the diameter of this Pokémon’s fireball to exceed 300 feet.
Cinderace Weakness
Cinderace's Fire typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Rock. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. With 80 HP and balanced defenses, Cinderace can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Ground, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel, Fairy |
In Sword & Shield, Runerigus's Poltergeist hits Cinderace for 48-57%. Lunatone's Psychic hits Cinderace for 55-65%. Slowking deals 73-86% with Scald.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Cinderace won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Overheat and Pyro Ball anchor the STAB core.

How to Get Cinderace in Sword & Shield
Cinderace Guide
In Sword & Shield, Cinderace looks average on paper at 530 BST. But Libero is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list. Pyroball with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, watch for Urshifu (Water), Golem (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Cinderace. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.
Cinderace gets Libero and Blaze. But Libero is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 119 Speed, Libero gives Cinderace an edge before opponents can react.
Cinderace is leaning toward the physical side (base 116 Attack). Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 119 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
In Sword & Shield, Cinderace's hidden ability is Libero. Libero changes the Pokémon's type to that of its previously used attack. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
