When it battles, its beak heats up. The temperature can easily exceed 212 degrees Fahrenheit, causing severe burns when it hits.
Within its beak, its internal gas ignites, explosively launching seeds with enough power to pulverize boulders.
Toucannon Sun & Moon Guide
In Sun & Moon, Sheer Force changes the entire equation for Toucannon. The 485 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a support. Beakblast with Life Orb is the standard set.
Sheer Force is what you want on Toucannon. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Keen Eye, Skill Link) work on paper but Sheer Force is what makes Toucannon worth using.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Toucannon is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.
In Sun & Moon, run Beakblast, Rock Blast, Bullet Seed, and Defog on Toucannon. Beakblast is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
