Roselia Weakness
Roselia's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Roselia's special bulk (base 80 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Roselia Evolutions
Roselia is partway through a three-stage line between Budew and Roserade. The chain involves an evolution item, so it's not a straightforward grind. So far, Sp.Atk got the biggest boost (+50 from Budew). The final form adds another 115 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Roselia to get Budew eggs easily using 35 partners from the Fairy and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Cotton Spore, Extrasensory, Leaf Storm and 6 more.
DP Roselia Best Moveset
100 Sp. Atk is strong for an unevolved Grass/Poison type, and AbilityNatural Cure clears status on the switch. The moveset runs special Grass and Poison attacks with decent power, but 65 Speed and fragile defenses limit it. Can evolve to Roserade now via Shiny Stone.

Roselia Diamond & Pearl Guide
In Diamond & Pearl, Roselia isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Roserade to unlock its full potential. At 400 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Diamond & Pearl, Run Natural Cure on Roselia. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Roselia also gets Poison Point, but they don't compare.
In Diamond & Pearl, Roselia fills the attacker role. It's a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
In Diamond & Pearl, Roselia does the job early-game if you need a Grass/Poison type on your team. Evolve it into Roserade before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Roselia has been available in 16 games since Ruby & Sapphire, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
